Wendy Gannon Lionetti

wendy_lionettiWendy has been the Ridgefield Town Clerk since 2018. She was born in Portchester, NY, but her roots are here in Ridgefield where she grew up. After graduating from Ridgefield High School, Wendy went on to attend Katherine Gibbs Business School and then Western Ct. State University.

Prior to becoming the Town Clerk, Wendy first worked part-time as an Assessment Clerk in the Tax Assessor's office, followed by thirteen years as the Assistant to the First Selectperson. In 2009 Wendy was named Ridgefield Town Employee of the year.

Wendy enjoys the challenges that her job provides, particularly her involvement in special town projects and the many chances to learn that her role presents. Helping others is important to Wendy, which is why her job has been rewarding. In addition to addressing public concerns, Wendy must stay up to date on laws and regulations. She keeps meticulous municipal records - including land use, elections, and vital statistics - and administers permits, licenses, and the oath of office. Wendy likes to refer to herself as the town librarian; if you need a record -  going back as far as 1708 - her department will find it.

Wendy loves to make jewelry from beads and found items. She shares this skill with adults with special needs through her jewelry-making class with SPHERE members. The jewelry and pottery creations made by the artists are sold to help raise funds for new materials. The Ridgefield Thrift Shop often donates old, broken jewelry that SPHERE repurposes. Working with the SPHERE Community  has brought much meaning to Wendy’s life. If she had a superpower it would be to teach people to be more accepting of each other.

When she's not beading, Wendy loves to play hockey with her husband, Mark. They have three grown children living in Colorado and California.
