                             Surveys To Be Conducted

For Ridgefield Plan

RIDGEFIELD– The surveys are coming, the surveys are coming!  As part of the process of updating the Plan of Conservation and Development for Ridgefield, the Planning and Zoning Commission will be conducting surveys of Ridgefield residents.

The first survey is an on-line survey intended to learn about what issues should be given increased attention in the updated Plan.  The survey is available to all people, 18 years of age and older, who live or work in Ridgefield.  The link to the survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Ridgefield_Plan) can be found on the Town website.  The link is expected to be active until Sunday December 3.  One survey response per device will be accepted.

Then, following election day, about 100 randomly selected Ridgefield households will be contacted to learn about what they feel are important issues to be considered in the Plan.  Phone calls are expected to occur between Wednesday November 7 and Saturday November 10.  Participants will be randomly selected and may receive a call on either their landline or cell phone.  For the telephone survey, the caller ID will display “GreatBlue Research” and/or will come from prefix 860-740-400*.  If no one answers, another Ridgefield telephone number will be randomly selected.

The survey questions have been designed to help the Planning and Zoning Commission better understand issues of concern to Ridgefield residents.  The results of the survey will be integrated into the Plan of Conservation and Development which is slated for adoption in 2020.  The current Town Plan is available on the Town website.

A Plan of Conservation and Development is an advisory document used by the Planning and Zoning Commission and other Town agencies to:

Protect the resources important to residents

Guide growth and change in Ridgefield

Identify facilities and services needed to support the community we want to be

Ridgefield residents are encouraged to participate!
