How to Reach Us
The Town Clerk's Office maintains all of the Land Records including Deeds, Mortgages and Survey Maps.
The Ridgefield Town Clerk is providing a free new tool to help property owners protect one of their most valuable assets. Sign up to receive alerts whenever a document, such as a deed or mortgage, is recorded under your name. You can sign up at https://searchiqs.com/fraudalert/?CC=CTRID. Please note there may be other property owners in the town that share the same name.
Applications for any project located within a public water supply, aquifer protection area or watershed area before the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, or the Inland Wetland Agency must notify the Commissioner of the CT Department of Public Health (CTDPH). In order to determine if your project is in this area, consult the “Public Drinking Water Source Protection Area Map” above. If your project falls within one of these areas, locate the PWS ID# (Public Water Supply ID#) and the PWS Name on the map and continue with the application instructions as given by the P & Z Commission, ZBA or the IWB.
Our office maintains Vital Records such as Birth, Death, Marriage and Civil Union records and issues certified copies of such. We also issue Burial and Cremation permits and maintain the Sexton's reports for our local cemeteries.
We receive and manage agendas and minutes of 35 Town Boards and Commissions including agendas and minutes of all Town Meetings and Public Hearings.
We record and manage Trade Names Certificates for businesses doing business in the Town of Ridgefield.
