NOTICE TO FILE LISTING OF PERSONAL PROPERTY

All persons liable to pay taxes in the Town of Ridgefield are hereby notified that they are required to return to the Assessor ON OR BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF NOVEMBER 2024 a written or printed list, duly signed and sworn to (EXCEPT REAL ESTATE AND CONNECTICUT REGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLES), OF SUCH PROPERTY BELONGING TO THE PERSON AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2024, (forms can be found on the Town of Ridgefield’s website, Tax Assessor’s Department) i.e.:

a) Motor Vehicles located in Ridgefield but not registered in Connecticut – including leased automobiles

b) Non-Registered Vehicles – including contractor’s equipment

c) Machinery, Equipment, Industrial and Manufacturing

d) Horses and Ponies

e) Commercial Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment

f) Farm Machinery and Tools

g) Mechanic Tools

h) Electronic Data Processing Equipment – including bundled software

i) Cables, Conduits, Pipes, Poles, Towers, Underground Mains, Wires, etc. of utility companies, such as electric and water

j) Office Supplies

k) Any other taxable property

l) All leased Property – including Furniture & Fixtures, Equipment & Machinery

m) Telecommunication Equipment

All persons so liable are requested to list property at 100 percent of its value in order that the Assessor may apply a uniform percentage assessment to all taxable property. Property owners who fail to file a proper list as prescribed by law will receive a twenty-five percent penalty on their assessment.
