The Force Behind Ridgefield’s Efficient Energy
The Force Behind Ridgefield’s Efficient Energy
In 2018, the Energy Task Force, who advises our leaders on the best energy efficient practices and opportunities, was created with the goal of reducing Ridgefield’s carbon footprint. With projects like solar panels on the schools, better insulation in town buildings, and LED lighting, Ridgefield’s electricity CO2 emissions has been significantly reduced. And that’s just the beginning.
In a December 2022 Board of Selectmen Meeting, the Task Force outlined further actions that can help facilitate the Town’s continued efforts in becoming more energy efficient. Their bucket list not only benefits the environment, it also helps to cut operating costs for the Town. All potential projects require an approval from the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance.
Ridgefield continues to be proactive with taking the necessary steps towards creating a greener lifestyle and that is one footprint we can be proud of leaving behind.
