Description: Responsible for general repair and maintenance of Town roads and right-of-ways

• Safe operation of truck with salt spreader & snowplow (35,000 gvw)
• Perform Snow plowing/treat roads with deicing materials-often long hours
• Proficient operation of equipment such as Backhoes, Rollers, Plows, Excavators, Loaders and Mowers
• Valued skills include a General Knowledge in Drainage Installation & Repair and Asphalt Paving
• Perform other road duties as assigned such as but not limited to: Brush Cutting, clear debris from catch basins, removal of road litter/debris, and Road Kill, Traffic Control, Pot Hole Repairs
• Work Mandatory Overtime- especially during storms
• Regular attendance as required by the position
• May have to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb, lift, push, pull, bend, walk, sit, utilize shovels and rakes for extended periods of time

Qualifications:

• High School graduate
• CDL – Air Brake Endorsement, Tanker Endorsement. Class A preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience with Road construction, Road Maintenance and Snow Removal equipment required
• Must be able to operate heavy equipment and large trucks
