Probate Court
Ridgefield is part of the Northern Fairfield County Probate District, which is comprised of Bethel, Newtown, Redding and Ridgefield. The Probate Court is centrally located in the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, One School Street, Bethel, CT.
Included among its board functions are the probate of wills, approval of accountings submitted by trustees, conservators, administrators of decedent's estates, appointment of guardians for minor's estates and for the handicapped. Probate courts also have jurisdiction over adoptions in Connecticut.
