Our Mission:
The Ridgefield Arts Council promotes the advancement of our vibrant arts community and the diverse arts and cultural organizations that contribute to making Ridgefield an arts destination. Our mission is to support, foster, and connect those who participate in, appreciate, and create art across all genres.
Our Charge:
Support & Promote the Ridgefield Arts Community
- Arts Professionals, Organizations, and Businesses
- Support events & individual artists
- Honor & acknowledge volunteers of nonprofit arts community
- Encourage collaboration between arts and cultural organizations
- Provide networking opportunities for arts organizations, businesses and individual artists
- Represent Ridgefield within local and regional organizations such as the arts alliances of Fairfield County & the State of Connecticut
- Town of Ridgefield & its Citizens
- Further the development & promotion of Ridgefield as an Arts Destination and as as Connecticut’s first designated Cultural District
- Promote opportunities to make the arts and cultural experiences accessible for the community
- Serve as a resource for Ridgefield arts and cultural information
- Facilitate partnerships between the schools and the local creative community
- Collaborate with other town appointed stakeholders
- Explore opportunities to support cultural events and initiatives in Ridgefield
- Report to the BOS annually with an update.
- Abide by Article 6 of the Ridgefield Town Charter Procedures for Elective & Appointive Boards
