ELECTION 2026

Three Options to Cast Your Vote:

  • Election Day: November 3 Vote in person at your regular polling place. Polls are open 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Early Voting:
    • October 19 through November 1 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Ridgefield Town Hall.
    • Extended hours: October 27 (Tuesday) and October 29 (Thursday) from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Absentee Voting begins October 2 -  Now open to ALL VOTERS! Vote by mail, ballot drop box or at the Town Clerk's office. Apply in person at the Town Clerk’s office or online at MyVote.CT.gov (portal opens on September 19). Return your ballot by mail, drop box or directly to the Town Clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3.

 
Voter Registration Deadlines:
  • by mail: must be postmarked by October 16
  • at the DMV: by close of business on October 16
  • online: must be completed by 11:59 PM on October 16
If you miss the deadline, same-day voter registration is available at Town Hall for early voting or Election Day voting.

To register to vote in Connecticut you must


    • Be a U.S. citizen.
    • Be a resident of a Connecticut town.
    • Be at least 17 years of age (as long as you will turn 18 by Election Day).
    • Have completed confinement if previously convicted of a felony.

Where do I Vote?

Ridgefield Voting Districts

  • District One: East Ridge Middle School, 10 East Ridge Ave (State Senate District # 26 - State Representative District # 111)
  • District Two: Scotts Ridge Middle School, 750 North Salem Road (State Senate District # 24 - State Representative District #111)
  • District Three: Yanity Gym, 60 Prospect Street  (State Senate District # 26 - State Representative District # 111)
  • District Four: East Ridge Middle School, 10 East Ridge Ave (State Senate District # 26 - State Representative District # 42

Voting Regulations

  • For every ELECTION and PRIMARY, polls are open from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • NO election material is allowed inside the polling place.
  • All campaigning must be done 75 feet from the polls.
  • All voting for REFERENDUMS takes place at Yanity Gym from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • All Registered Voters and Property Owners who are listed on the most recent Grand List who are at least 18 years of age and United States Citizens may vote in Referendums and Town Meetings.
