Commission for Accessibility

The Ridgefield Commission for Accessibility (CfA) seeks to:

  • Advise the Selectpersons and other Ridgefield Officials, Commissions and Boards in matters pertaining to the rights and needs of disabled citizens and reasonable accommodations to their special needs
  • Pro actively advocate further improvements in current public facilities and accommodations which, although not required by statute in some cases, would provide our disabled citizens with the means for more independent and safe access throughout Ridgefield
  • Cooperate with other organizations in Ridgefield, both municipal and private, which promote programs that benefit this town's citizens who have either physical or mental disabilities
  • Exchange information and cooperate with organizations in surrounding towns, and at the state and national level, as appropriate, in furtherance of these general aims

Contact us if you need special accommodations due to disability.

The CfA encourages persons seeking information on disability services and guidance on related issues to reference the resources below which provide links to sites covering a wide array of services for persons with disabilities offered by the state,  and detail the requirements for accessibility and inclusion as set forth by the American with Disabilities Act. These resources can provide a starting point for research on these topics. This commission will help with inquires or questions.
