The Town of Ridgefield is seeking applicants for senior and special event Bus Drivers

Applicants must have previous experience and be a CT – CDL Passenger endorsement licensed driver.

This position will supplement our current driver and programs. Specially this driver will be responsible for our Thursday Medical runs from Ridgefield to Danbury. Ridership varies weekly but typically is 2 to 4 passengers. The driver will pick them up, may assist into the bus, bring to their appointments, wait or pick up additional riders, and then return the riders to their homes, again potentially assisting in or out of their home.

Drivers, if available, may be asked to substitute for Tuesday, Wednesday or special event runs but are not required to do additional days. For the right driver, new times and programs may be added such as a Sunday bus for religious services, lunch or dinner trips for our seniors, movie afternoons, and more.

Successful candidates must pass a vigorous background check as well as a drug/alcohol screen and physical.   

The Driver must be willing and able to work with seniors, identify their special needs and be open to their input into what they need in our community. The ideal driver is a partner with the Town to help our seniors and other disabled adults enjoy our community without limitations.

Schedule: Thursdays typically 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Hourly Rate: $26.00
