Reminder: Tree Committee meetings are normally held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of
each month except for July and December.
Tuesday, November 11 is Veteran’s Day; to accommodate members’ schedules, the November
meeting of the Committee will be held at 5:00 p.m. instead of 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday,
November 12.

Policy: Tree Committee meetings will be conducted under Roberts Rules of Order and all participants are expected to
conduct themselves with dignity and treat all those present with respect, empathy and civility.
Agenda
1) Report of Tree Warden
2) Approval of Minutes of October Meeting
3) Discuss meeting schedule for 2026 (second Tuesday or Wednesday, every month
except July and December?)
4) Ideas for Arbor Day celebration May 16, 2026 (speaker?)
5) “Sharing knowledge with community”
a. Forestry Management Plan revision status
b. Content for Tree Committee page https://www.ridgefieldct.gov/tree-committee
c. Update on Facebook group “Ridgefield, CT Trees” (288 members, begun January
2024)
6) Planting:
a. Main Street and gateways
b. Update re: Request for dedicated tree adjacent to Library.
c. Update re: Tree planted near intersection of East Ridge Rd and Governor Street.
d. Ridgefield High School 1) near Staff Parking; 2) near SW parking lot
e. Trees for Town cemeteries. FYI Cemetery tour by Jack Sanders Sunday Nov 16.
7) Other projects:
a. Main Street planting
b. Renewing Tree City & Growth Award applications annually.
c. Collaborate with Lounsbury House presentation(s)/ “hands on” seminars
d. Seven Members for Seven Sectors
i) Assess Town RoW trees et al. for a) safety; b) continuity of travel &
utilities
ii) Identify locations for “Trees of Note”
iii) Manage Woodlands and Urban Forests – Review of Municipal Policies
9) Public Engagement ("…. share knowledge with the Community; establish and
maintain an optimum, stable, and safe public tree and plant environment")
10) Adjournmen
