Revenue Clerk

Description: To provide clerical and operational support for the Tax Collector’s Office.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Receives and processes all tax and sewer payments for the Town.
  • Provides tax information to the public as requested.
  • Explains or clarifies various tax laws, rules and procedures to the public, either in person or on the telephone.
  • Receives and processes parking ticket payments.
  • Assists in the daily opening and closing of the office.
  • Extensive use of the tax processing system and Microsoft Office.
  • Assists in preparing delinquent notices and addressing delinquencies.
  • Regular interaction with the public at the counter, on the phone and via correspondence.
  • Picks up mail at post office.
  • Makes bank deposits.
  • Additional supports the Pension Administration with data input, correspondence and occasional phone interactions with retirees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess good data entry, mathematical and office skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a Tax Collector’s office preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Part-time - 15 hours/week AND full-time July 1 through the first week of August

Part-time Hours: Monday - Thursday 11:15 AM - 3:00 PM
Full-time Hours: (July 1 - first week of August): Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Salary: $21.31/hour (grade 9)
